From the Broadfoot Roster of Conf. Soldiers, here are the Alfords listed from the state of Alabama. Understand this list is not absolutely reliable, as it is estimated that about 80% of Confederate troops are included in the Broadfoot Roster. You'll notice below that there is one Alford in the 5th Ala. Cav. and another in the 5th Infantry Regiment. The two Alfords in the 18th Alabama and the Alford in the 58th Alabama are possibilities, but the companies listed are not those usually thought of to be made up of men from Blount's 5th Alabama Battalion; however, you never know!
