Alversons from Broadfoot Roster of Conf. Soldiers

Dear Ms. Harmon,

You may or may not be familiar with a publication produced a few years ago by Broadfoot Publishing Co., Wilmington, NC which includes all of the names and unit designations of soldiers from the National Archives (well, almost!). From this publication I've collected all of the Alversons listed from the state of Alabama in Confederate service. It appears several of your ancestors are listed more than once as these records were constructed from muster rolls, reports, correspondence, etc., from the different units, of which they were a member. As discussed in earlier postings, the 5th AL Battalion (Blount's), 18th Alabama Infantry, 9th Alabama Infantry Battalion, 58th Alabama Infantry and the 32nd/58th Consolidated Alabama Infantry are all interwoven. The list below seems to substantiate this fact.

Please feel free to continue to ask questions about these units and we'll try to make it as clear as possible. Most of us have ancestors with service records that include participation in several different units due to transfers, reorganization, etc.
