The descriptive roll shows him to have been age 26, born Carroll County GA, fair complexion, grey eyes, dark hair, 5-7 inches, a carpenter by trade.

Here's some organizational information about the company and its captains:

Company “F” of Baldwin and Mobile Counties “Baldwin Rifles”

Franklin J. McCoy. Wounded at Shiloh, Tennessee, April 6, 1862. Elected Major on May 8, 1862.
Benjamin Franklin Dade. Elected Captain May 8, 1862. Surrendered at Mobile, Alabama, May 12, 1865.

Organizing April 11, 1861, this company entered state service June 3, 1861, under Captain James R. Smith. Elections took place October 10, 1861, officers holding Confederate commissions dated two days later.

Vines enlisted on October 13, 1861 in Baldwin County. Captain Dade signed papers dated November 21, 1862, which recorded his death earlier that day. He died at Choctaw Bluff. On April 20, 1863, his widow, Evaline Vines, filed a claim for pay due him.

No information about disposition of the body.
