I've read in Brassey's book on Confederate Uniforms that the Alabama Volunteer Corp wore a uniform similiar to what the soldier in my ambrotype is wearing. The buttons on the uniform looking like the eagle form for the AVC. I'm having trouble finding an history on the internet of the AVC. Any website or book suggestions. Thanks
