Here's the company information you requested:

Company “A” of Pike County

Andrew Pickens Love. Formerly Captain of Company “I”, 22nd Alabama Infantry Regiment. [I've seen a picture of Captain Love somewhere.]

This command elected officers at Troy, Alabama, August 24, 1863. Members eventually became Company “H”, Jeff Davis Legion.

As for the battalion itself:

On March 18, 1864, three companies serving as “supporting forces” of the Conscript Bureau were ordered to report to the Army of Northern Virginia. Each had operated independently prior to this time. A tentative effort to organize this battalion took place April 5, 1864, but no staff appointments were made. Sometimes called Love’s Cavalry Battalion, officers and men enlisted for three years or the war.

Company “A” of Pike County
Company “B” of Barbour County
Company “C” of Barbour County

Reaching Virginia about May 22, 1864, this command served briefly with Brigadier General Mathew C. Butler’s Brigade. The battalion transferred to Brigadier General Pierce M. B. Young’s Brigade just prior to the battle of Trevallian Station, Virginia, June 11-12, 1864. Attached to the Jeff Davis Legion and the Phillips Legion of Georgia, the Adjutant and Inspector General finally assigned these companies to the Jeff Davis Legion on January 17, 1865. Survivors surrendered at Greensboro, North Carolina, May 1, 1865.

Of course this is very brief, but hopefully you have a better idea now than you did before you made your post. A very good book entitled "The Little Jeff: A History of the Jeff Davis Legion" has recently been published and may be worth bringing to your attention.
