Religion is THE place.

Hoyt,
It is my opinion, not of my own creation since I'm a fairly slow-thinking fellow, but of my readings, that we were created, possibly not by true Bible-believing Christians but ones who had hope that maybe one day we could be a haven for Christian freedom, as a Christian nation.
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ! For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity and freedom of worship here." --Patrick Henry
It is my belief that as soon as we were formed we were under attack by those who considered our Christian freedoms a threat to the tyranny practiced in the rest of the world. When a person feels that he can have free access to and talk directly to the God of the Universe, it makes him a dangerous person, particularly to tyrants.
There is a reason that the South is called the "Bible Belt." The War Between the States was perpetrated in a large part by the godless humanists of New England (there is nothing of a Christian nature to "The Battle Hymn of the Republic") who cannot stand that a person will not think as they do. The War is not over. The South is the world's haven for freedom under Christ and we just can't give up the fight.
Deo Vindice.
