Alabama also furnished "union men" to Union regmts from Ohio,Tenn and Ind.

I have a "Roots List" for folks who are interested in finding information on thier "Southern Unionist" ancestors. Many of the list had ancestors in the 1st Ala Cav USA. The list is primarly for genealogy. We have a ongoing research list that we update.
