To try to answer your original question, this regiment as assigned to Armistead's Brigade. It was assigned to northeast Alabama where it served during most of the second half of 1864. In December it was transferred to the area around Pollard/Canoe Station to defend rail communications between Mobile and Montgomery. It remained in the area until Steele's expedition dispersed Confederates in Baldwin County AL in late March 1865. After the fall of Blakely and Spanish Fort, the brigade was withdrawn to the west bank of the Alabama River and eventualy surrendered at Gainesville AL with Richard Taylor's command on May 14, 1865. The surrender agreement was reached earlier, but most paroles for the regiment include this date at the bottom of each form.
