I am currently researching information for a dear lifelong friend . His great grandfather was John Truman Williamson , of Dadeville , Alabama or Tallapoosa Co. Alabama he was a purchasing agent for Confederacy during the war . Was in covert operations and or intelligence operations . The Union knew of him and legend has it there was a price on his head . His name must have come through some documents somewhere sometime during the war , not shure if he will show on any muster rosters anywhere but it is worth a shot. Additional info. born Dec.25,1828 near Edgefield , S.C. Killed in Civil War July 1865 possibly in Battle of Selma . Any information from any source would be greatly appreciated.
