I would like to identify James E. Saunders as a Col. in some unit. The info I have states he was an Aide de Camp to the Governor of Alabama. He was in the state legislature and appears to have owned "Rocky Hill" between Courtland and Moulton. Col. Saunders is mentioned in a lot of correspondence between Gen. Roddy and Gen. Forrests son. Can some one clarify the Military Status of James E. Saunders?
