Thanks for reply and the offer of assistance on my relatives in the 40th.

<>

About a month ago I came to this site asking about a roster for the 40th. Someone on another list gave me the URL for Blomquist's book. I contacted her. She had no books left and was about to leave on a 3 week vacation. She returned and sent the book to the printer. I'm to get my copy shortly. So you may well have bought the last one when you made your purchase.

She advised that she transcribed the information from National Archives microfilm. My experience in using the available microfilms for surnames is that the same man may be listed several times--due to spelling and changing of regiments. That makes it difficult!

Would love to know the names of those folks if you are willing to say.

<>

I may be able to give you some data on the ones I know.

Thanks for the information regarding the book's weaknesses.
Whatever is in it will be more than I presently have.

I saw this book listed too, and Ann has some of the letters posted online. She suggested I purchase this one when purchasing the other, but I unfortunately declined. May have to go back and get it too later.

Thanks! You have already.

Really hate to hear that the book you plan is going to be a few years in the making. I may have already met the 40th by that time.
