Merrill Jasper,Marion Branson,David N.,James M.all surnamed COTTON joined Hilliard's Legion.M.J.Cotton Co C Gracie's Brigade,M.B.Cotton Co H 51st AL Cav,David N Cotton 69th AL Reg, James M Cotton Co F 2nd Bttn and then 25th AL and then Co C 59th AL.How did they get from Hilliard's Legion to different groups? I can find no further record on David N. Cotton. The other three came home. Thanks for any info.
