Here'a a little on the company and its captains. You can see that his name could likely apppear with another unit:

Company “D” of Wilcox and Clarke Counties “Creagh Guards”

John W. Creagh. Resigned due to ill health, July 24, 1862.
George W. Cox. Promoted Captain [July 30,] 1862, to rank July 24, 1862. Wounded at New Hope Church, Georgia, May 25, 1864.

Enlisting at Coffeeville, Alabama, March 10, 1862, members mustered in Confederate service on March 13, 1862. Combined with Company “K”, this unit became Company “C” of the consolidated 32nd/58th Alabama Infantry Regiment.
