Oh my, Mr Adams!
I had no idea there were more than 100 N540's in CSA service
--- I figured there might be 8 or 10....
I will go to the library and begin the task of identifying these N540 soldiers. I thankyou so much for your guidance and your help!!!

P.S. Great-grandfather Eugene Lavarsha Nunnelee died 09 May 1909 in Texas: I have found no record he ever applied for a CSA pension. His widow, my great-grandmother, did apply for a CSA widow's pension in 1930 at Houston, Texas, and the pension was granted.
