Thanks for posting the letter. You may want to look at the letter again and verify the location and date. The Army of Tennessee had crossed the Coosa River at Gadsden a couple of days earlier while Wheeler was screening Sherman's pursuit westward down Shinbone Valley. Just a guess, but it should be "Guntersville" since that includes many of the same letters as "Huntsville". The only Confederate soldiers in Hunstville on that date would have been disarmed, disabled or deceased.

Another note: the letter may read "Ashworth", but I'm sure he meant Ackworth [GA].
