Looking for regimental history on 61st Alabama Infantry Co. I, including battles fought, how Camp Chase POW camp is related to some of the men and how to get records of said relative John A. Britton. He is buried in Aspel Cemetary, Jackson County, AL. Some confusion because there is also a John A. Britton 4th Tennessee Calvary Co. G on a site that shows all info listed the same on gravestone except death year (birthdate, month, day, city buried were all the same). Could he have served in both units or could the info given at time of burial, or when headstone was laid by DAR in the last 15 to 20 years, be wrong? How can I check the information?
