As I just got off the phone with my first cousin concerning the plantation home of Samuel Lackey(2nd MS. Cavalry, Co. C) in Toomsuuba, Ms.---Seems like General Sherman came and burned downed this plantation home and also took their panty hose and added peanuts and said this was the the legs of the women. They then took bayonets and stuck them into a pony around this area which my grandmother witnessed as she was 16 yrs. old and from that day on hated Yankees! As I don't know if this was Sherman, would like to know the movements of him!
