LeeAnne,
I have sent a letter to both of the e-mails you left (twice each) they will not go thru.
My Gr-gr-gr-grandfather was 2nd Liut. Co. D, 59th Alabama. He was shot thru the right lung at Drewry's Bluff in May of 1864. He was left for dead on the battlefield for 35 hours until someone noticed he was still breathing. He was sent to the Hospital in Eufaula, AL and was not able to go back to the war. He lived to be 86 in Pike Co. AL.
I went to the Alabama Archives a few years ago. I copied everything that they had on the 59th AL. Most of the records were lost or destroyed. I do have info on the battles that they were in before Drewry's Bluff. The unit lost many at Drewry' Bluff.
I haven't heard from many on the 59th. Hopefully with this new web-site we will here from many.
Tina
