Hi Lloyd,

We must be looking at different rolls. The microfilm here in Birmingham reads "Died at Dry Creek near Tuscumbia Oct. 6, 1862." He has an enlistment date of Sept. 9, 1862, age 36. There's also a D. W. Hollis, same company, same enlistment date, age 22.

Darlen Hollis Jr. appears on the 1860 census of Marion County, page 609, age 30. That's probably "Darrell". Daniel Hollis, named on the 1907 veterans census in Lamar County as Daniel William Hollis, appears on the 1860 census of Marion County as Daniel Hollis, page 584, age 18.

At the time of the muster roll (Nov. 1, 1862) camp was shown as Cherokee, Ala. There are two streams named Dry Creek in Colbert County. One runs into Cane Creek near Red Rock Road, about a mile before it intersects with Alabama 247. The Dry Creek "near Tuscumbia" is likely a stream flowing west, starting below Leighton until it empties into Spring Creek near the intersection of the highways leading from Tuscumbia to Moulton and Russellville.
