Hayes LoweChattanooga burials.Sat Sep 30 08:51:42 2000 All Confederate burials from Chattanooga hospitals during 1863 were first buried near the river. They were all later moved to the Chattanooga Confederate Cemetery. There is an online listing of all known names of those buried there. My ancestor (great-great grandfather or great-great-great uncle) is one of the "unknowns" buried there. All unknowns died in January 1863 (unknown because the floods rotted the wooden markers). Your soldier should have a marked grave. I'm not at the computer where I have the listing bookmarked.
