BONNER, John M., 2nd Lt.
Probably born in Pickens County, Ala., near Bridgeville. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1857. He may have moved from Pickens Co. to Morehouse Parish, La. before the war. He served in the Confederate Army as a 2nd Lt., regiment unknown. [Possibly the same as BONNER, John M. who attained the rank of 1st Lt. in the 16th Louisiana Infantry Battalion (Confederate Guards Resp. Battalion), Companies A & B.)

BONNER, John Smith
Born 1839 in Muscoga Co., Ga. Entered service as a Private in 56th Ala. Cavalry [Partisan Ranger Regiment], Co. G on 9/6/1862 in Jasper. Company G was primarily formed in Tuscaloosa County, and known as the “First Partisan Rangers”. Paroled at Washington, Ga., 4/12/1865. Resident of Pickens County, Ala.

BONNER [BOWNER], Richard
Born in Pickens Co. Enlisted as a Private in the 13th Arkansas Infantry, Co. C at age 17. Discharged 11/30/1862. Captured 11/26/1863 at Chattanooga [Missionary Ridge], Tenn. sent to Rock Island, Ill. Enlisted in the U.S. Navy at Camp Douglas, Ill. on 1/25/1864. Over age 35. [Note conflict in dates of discharge and capture.]

BONNER, William, Dr., Captain
Born in 1848, probably in Pickens County, Ala. near Bridgeville. He was a medical doctor. He may have moved from Pickens Co. to Morehouse Parish, La. before the war. He served as a Captain in the Confederate Army, regiment unknown. Died in 1877. [Probably the Dr. William Bonner from Lousiana who was an Asst. Surgeon in the Confederate Army, and who was apparently not assigned to a regiment.]
