Hello and thanks for your quick response. Yes, you are correct in assuming the info I have came from a pension Application. His wife filed one in Lamar County. They lived in Marion County at the beginning of the war. She stated that W. B. Robertson was a member of Co. K, 16th Alabama Reg. Witnesses included J. W. Spruell and N. Nolen. A response from the War Department said that as of 30 June 1862 her husband was reported as deserted. There was then an affidavit signed by W. M. Stone (of Co. F, 10th Ala Cav.),which said W. B. served in the 16th Reg. Co. K as well as the 10th Alabama Cav. Co. H.Then there are the papers where he was paroled signed by Brig. Gen. R. S. Granger and W. H Fairbanks, Col 149th Ind. Infty. This one lists him as W. D. Robinson of H Company. Your information helps to explain how he could have got from one to the other. Let me know what you think. Thanks alot. Lee
