My great-great grandfather, Elijah J. Abston, was a Private in the 38th Alabama Infantry, Company B. He was captured at the battle of Resaca, Georgia and taken to a prison camp, Camp Morton, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He then aparently was released, but drowned crossing a river on his way home. That is where his story ends. We would LOVE to have ANY information about this man, his military service, or ultimately find his resting place if it exists. Any help would be very much appreciated.
