Last Alabama CSA units-survivor

As a boy growing up in Northwest Florida in the early 50's I recall many references to Uncle Bill Lundy. He was noted as the last known Florida Confederate Soldier and his name was in the news quite often. I remember his photo was on a farm magazine with the Confederate flag (I'm positive it was the "Progressive Farmer"). Information from a book I have states William Allen Lundy at age 17 enlisted using the name of William Lundy at Elba, Alabama in early 1865 and became a member of John Canty Brown's Company of Coffee County Home Guards. Also states he was in Company D, Fourth Alabama Cavalry for a short time. I haven't located his name on any of the 4th Alabama Cavalry rosters via the internet. At his death in 1957 he is noted in the article as being the last survivor of ALL Alabama units, last homeguardman, and last known Florida Confederate Soldier. Anyone have further information about Uncle Bill?
