Here is what I have been able to glean:

2nd Miss. Cav. Regt., aka 4th Miss. Cav. Regt.

Formed by adding men to Gordon's Battalion. The men added may have been known as the 4th Miss. Cav.

Commissioned May 1862, with the following companies: Raney’s, R.C. Love’s, Perry’s, McCarty’s, Harris’, Hogan’s, W. G. Beck’s, Ruffin’s, J.T. Pitts’ and White’s. [Capt. John Gaddis’ was possibly added later.]

Spent most of that Summer in Columbus, Miss. in training.

Bolivar, Tenn. August 30, 1862.
Britton's Lane near Denmark, Tenn. September 1, 1862.
Iuka, September 13, 1862 and subsequent days.
Chewalla, late Sept. or early Oct., 1862.
Hatchie Creek, Oct. 5, 1862.
Oxford, Nov./Dec., 1862.
Water Valley, Nov./Dec., 1862.
Battle of Coffeeville, Nov./Dec., 1862.

[The regiment had about 400 men in Spring 1863. Not all companies were present during the 1863 engagements. The regiment reported 200 men in July of that same year.]

Stockade Fort on Harpeth River, March, 1863. 20 casualties.
Franklin, April 10, 1863. 1 wounded.
Capt. R. C. Love's squadron participated against Grierson's Raid, April-May, 1863.

Opposed McPherson’s expedition to Clinton in October, 1863.
