Jim:

This is exactly the sort of stuff we are looking for!!!! According to Snedecor's 1856 map of Pleasant Ridge, the Thomas P. Archibald plantation was located immediately south of the location where I believe that Adams' formed up brigade was able to tear into the hastily forming 6th Kentucky Cavalry, in the open field. The 6th Kentucky was driven back onto the 2nd Michigan Cavalry, which formed in the woods on the oppocite side of the field, catching Adams' troopers in the open and cutting them down to halt the advance by the Confederates in this initial encounter. In fact, looking at the Archibald property on a topographical map, there was an elevation on the northernmost corner of this plantation whereby one might actually "look down" on the skirmish taking place at this point.

If anyone else has such anecdotes please feel free to share them. We want to compile as detailed a description of what actually occurred , which is gradually coming together.
