Col Jeffery Forrest's Regiment

My ancestor was from the Lawrence County/Franklin County area of North Alabama. I'm not sure which county he was living in at the time of the war. After the war, he and his family lived in both counties, along with Colbert County. I also had two other ancestors, both great-great uncles, in the 11th Alabama Cavalry. Their names were Edward Rowell Stanley and John Allen. Edward Rowell Stanley served in the 16th Alabama Infantry (wounded at Chickamauga), he then joined the Leighton Rangers, which became part of the 11th Alabama Cavalry. John Allen, brother to my great-great grandfather, Martin Daniel Allen of the 9th Alabama Infantry, apparently served from the beginning with Colonel Forrest's regiment, and he was then assisgned to the 11th AL Cavalry. All three of these men were from the Lawrence County/Franklin County area. Any help that anyone can give me in finding more information on these men would be greatly appreciated. I would also like to share information on the 5th Alabama Cavalry and the 9th, 16th, and 35th Alabama Infantry Regiments.
Thanks,
Derek Brown
