Many thanks. I am still unclear where you have found the POW record. It has much new information. I would like to obtain a copy or at least a source for my files. But this is all falling in place. S W May was supposed to be in middle TN at the end of the war. I had heard the 10th AL went on a raid there at the end of the war, the only time they ever got very far from northern AL. But apparently S W May was in Nashville trying to get his parole? Do you think he was in prison from Dec to March 1865? He was not home until after April 19 1865 because that is when his child died, and he was "away at war" at that time.
