Alabama Brigade Association

I have had posted an invitation to join a non-existent Alabama Brigade Association, to which I've received about 200 favorable responses (4th, 15th, 44th, 47th, and 48th AL Regiments). At this point, I'm in no position to do much about it, organizationally speaking. There is a similar organization online, Morgan's Men Association and several offline, such as Hood's Texas Brigade Association. The latter, Hood's is organized as follows:

Reactivated in 1966, Hood’s Texas Brigade Association holds a biennial reunion on even years and issues a newsletter twice a year. Membership is available to direct and collateral descendants of members of Hood’s Texas Brigade. The Confederate Research Center, Hillsboro, TX, has the service records of all the members of the Brigade on microfilm and will use this for verification. Members will receive an authentically reproduced certificate of membership like the one issued by the Association on June 27, 1889. Annual Dues: $5 (due January 1)

Personally, I think it could be a terrific organization, designed to further research into these regiments and foster kinship among descendants and/or other interested parties. But, the "organization" needs an organizer to begin the work, someone who can take on such organizational activities as might be appropriate until officers can be elected or put in place.

Anyone out there like that? Or anyone know someone like that? Hate to see a good idea die for lack of a "second."
