Military record....

There's one record under your ancestor's name. It shows that he surrendered with consolidated Company "B" at Greensboro NC, May 1, 1865. The record also shows that he was enlisted by Capt. Roberts at Montgomery on Sept. 25, 1861. That would be Company "G". There were just enough survivors from this regiment to group together into two respectable (thirty or more officers and men) companies. I looked under "Croft" as well as "Craft" and saw a number of Crofts in Company "D", but nobody with your ancestor's first name and initials. Perhaps there's more service info in his pension application.
