As mentioned earlier, orders for the 22nd Alabama to leave for Corinth came on Feb. 26, 1862, and it would take a few days to arrange for transportation. You also have to allow a couple of days for rail travel from Mobile. Also, as cited by Steve from the book by Larry Daniels, the Federals didn't arrive at Savannah Landing on the Tennessee until March 11, 1862. I believe your ancestor's regiment was sent out to guard the rail line at Bethel Station, but you're concerned with a death that took place earlier.

I would definitely check any Mobile listings for deaths and/or interments for this period. Much better chance of finding him there than at Corinth or someplace along the way.
