Your points are well taken. This company was part of a squadron led by Capt. Joseph C. Keyser of Company "I" which operated independently of the regiment for long periods. You will see it referenced as Keyser's scouts of something to that effect. The name is sometimes spelled Kaiser or something similiar. They operated in the area above Pensacola and below Pollard and Canoe Station.

In these two companies I've noticed more uniformity with regard to residence than in other companies. My comments were made with the other companies in mind, but I'm glad you reminded me.

It seems that Capt. Alexander C. Monroe resigned after being elected clerk of the Walton County Circuit Court. Could I ask how many members appear on roll as residents of counties other than Coffee County? Also, which two or three are most numerous? My notes show an organization date of April 3, 1863, Coffee Springs AL. If any other remarks or dates appear on the roll you have, I'd be interested in knowing what they were.

Thanks for your reply.
