Alan, thanks. I just got another response saying they saw a Robert L. Commins, Co. G 3rd Al. Reserves. In as a Corporal out Sergeant. Hope this leads to someting.

I do have know his bd and that he was a tanner by trade and lived and died in Tuscaloosa Alabama after the war.

Do you know if there is a site to check out the veterns census of 1907?
