I really don't recall that the Ninth Alabama correspondence file was any more voluminous that that of other regiments. The ADAH could provide an estimate for copying what they have. Like most files, it includes copies of Dr. Owen's letters to veterans identified by the 1907 census. Dr. Owen always asked about muster rolls, photographs and other memorabilia, so you often see references to those subjects. He also attempted to recruit someone from each unit to write a regimental history, using McMorries' history of the First Alabama as a guide. These efforts usually met with little success. Sometimes these files contain company rolls composed by veterans from memory. Don't remember seeing any of these on the Ninth Alabama, but there could be.

I hate to sound like Hillary Clinton answering questions about the Travel Office firings, but I just don't recall!
