Linden is in Marengo County, in southeastern/central part of Alabama. Broadfoot Publishing in Wilmington, NC has just published a roster of all Confederate soldiers and their records (unit, etc.) and that might help you. A good large library should have a set. Otherwise, hire a researcher in Washington to spend an hour in the National Archives, and you will get the information you want.
