Would like more info on Dr. Martin Patrick Roberts who became Captian of the New Market Rebels...Before the war, he practiced medicine with Dr. Francis Rice. (Francisco in Paint Rock Valley named after his later home) Dr. MP Roberts attended the 1861 convention to vote Al for seccession. I would like to know more about the 27th involvement...I believe they became part of the 7th or 9th Cav.I did later find where Dr. Martin Patrick Roberts served as a surgeon with the 33rd Mississippi...???Dr. Roberts is buried at the Mount Paran Cemetery in New Market, Alabama. He is one worthy individual who contributed to the cause..
