Bennetts of Butler Co., AL

I am researching the family of Thomas Bennett, born 1805 in Bennettstown, Christian Co. KY. He married Prudence Ship, was a Baptist minister, and eventually settled in Butler Co. AL. Right now, I would like to unearth the war records of himself and his sons and sons-in-law. Old Thomas would have been over 50 when the war came, and that may be why I find no war record for him, but I have only been able to find a little info on the rest of the family. Here they are, if anyone can help, I would appreciate it SO much.
Thomas Bennett (the FATHER)
sons:
William Mathison Bennett b.1829
Madison Bennett
Thomas Bradley Bennett b.1830
James Bennett b.1835
George Crittendon Bennett b.1840
(Pvt. Co. D, 33rd Ala. Inf. Regt. enlisted March 8, 1862 at Georgiana, AL age 21)
Joseph Bennett b.1842
Walter C. Bennett b.1845
Daniel Dozier Bennett b.1848
sons-in-law
A.L.Palmer b.1846 (married Elizabeth)
Robert Steward (married Harriett)
Thomas Dewberry (married Eliza)
G.W.T. Wynn (married Permilia Jane)
(Co. "C", 33rd Ala. Inf. Regt.
Wow, thats a BIG family!
I found T.H.Bennett (Pvt. Co. I, 6th Ala. Inf. Regt.)
Thomas Bennett (Pvt. Co. K, 6th Ala. Inf. Regt)
William Bennett (Pvt. Co. K, 6th Ala. Infg. Regt.) But this regiment didn't come from Butler Co. How would I know if these were MY Bennetts or not? That could be the father and two sons in the 6th with others in the 33rd. Am very confused and unsure how to determine what is correct! Appreciate any help or advice!
