Those sound like good, workable solutions, Jim.

Like the other contributors, I have no problem with someone publishing something based upon my research, so long as they're straight with me up front. In fact, I have volunteered my help to people I knew were writing books on specific battles and regiments. I've worked too hard on my research to let it slide into oblivion upon my death -- so I welcome any opportunity to help future researchers avoid having to reinvent the wheel. I have a particular gripe with some commercial websites which charge researchers for the information I post for free on the Arkansas Civil War Page (they're careful, of course, not to copy my work verbatim, but the bulk of it is my research).

Once you post something on the internet, it goes out to the world and you just have to trust that most people are honorable and ethical in their use of it. I've found that most, especially in the Civil War field, are.
