Not quite. The 2nd A.V.M. became the 2nd Ala. [C.S.A]
However, the 3rd A.V.M. became the 1st Ala. [C.S.A.], and the 1st Ala. A.V.M. became the 3rd Ala. [C.S.A.]
1st, 2nd, and 3rd Ala.
