If what I have read is correct, all companies called into service with the 1st and 2nd Alabama Infantry Regiments (and tendered to Confederate service) were in the 1st and 2nd AVC Regiments. I *assume* that the 1st Ala. Inf. Regt. consisted of those companies which were a part of the 1st AVC Regiment, and same for the 2nd.
