Here the source:

TITLE: Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who
Served in Organizations from the State of Alabama. [microcopy no. M311].

PUBLISHER: U.S. National Archives and Records Service

FORMAT: Microfilm, 508 rolls

CONTENT: This microfilm reproduces the compiled service records of Confederate officers and enlisted men from the State of Alabama.

Burrell J. Key's service record appears with records of the the 47th Alabama Infantry Regiment, reel 427 (surnames Hu - Le).

I looked through his records again last evening. Burrell J. Key shows present for duty on every roll on file from the time his company organized until he surrendered at Appomattox VA, April 9, 1865. There's nothing about being captured or spending time in prison. There's another man named Key in the same company who was absent for some time during 1864 due to illness, but there's nothing about him being in prison, either.

Using the message board's search function, I couldn't locate anything about Burrell J. Key. I had hoped to see what might have been said about him in an ealier post. Perhaps I sent an e-mail to you directly; I really don't recall. Perhaps you could help me remember.
