You mentioned the 1st Alabama Battalion in another post. I see that it included a Pickens County company which organized at Providence. Do I understand you that a substantial number of the A.V.C. "Calhoun Guard" from Pickens County enrolled in this company?

Company "E" of Pickens County

Capt. Daniel M. Richards. Later served as Captain of Company "E", 25th Alabama Infantry Regiment.

This company organized at Providence, Alabama. Accepted in Confederate service at Fort Gaines, Alabama, September 21, 1861, members later formed Company "E" of the 25th Alabama Infantry Regiment.
