I'm particularly interesting in the position of the 3rd Wisc. Inf. My wife's ancestor, Otto J. Treptow was a member of Company G of the 3rd Wisc. Inf. He was a hired mercenary from Stettin, Germany! At the end of the war, he received an island near Watertown, Wisc. in payment for his services.
