I was interested in this regiment because it was raised here in North Alabama and there is a good account of the fiasco at Fishing Creek (Mill Springs, Ky) early in the war because it is in Charles Jordan's Early Settlers of Lawrence County, Alabama, my residence now (although I'm a Yankee) The fiasco at Fishing Creek wasn't the fault of the men but of their politically-appointed generals who just happened to be drunk at the time. So some things haven't changed much! (WSe enlisted men always think that way!)
