All these men are the right name, but there are several regiments represented (assuming he served in Alabama):

Davis, William E. AL 10th Inf. Co.F
Davis, William E. AL 16th Inf. Co.C
Davis, William E. AL 38th Inf. Co.B
Davis, William E. AL 58th Inf. Co.I 1st Sgt.
Davis, W.E. AL 47th Inf. Co.B

There are also many men identified merely as William Davis or W. Davis serving in Alabama units.
