How about a takeoff on Edward S. McCarthy's narrative series in the Southern Historical Society Papers -- "Detailed Minutiae of Confederate Staff Officers"?

Or, "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Confederate Staff Officers, And Are Sorry You Asked"?

Personally, though, discussions of this detail are very enlightening and are a major reason why I read this board. I ALWAYS get more than I give.
