No, as far as I am aware, there was no exam for the Ord. Sgt.

Perhaps these were temporary duty assignments, until a permanant Ordnance Sgt. was appointed and approved.

Also, be careful that you are not actually seeing assignments to two different positions. Both Ordnance Sgt. and Orderly Sgt. were commonly abbreviated as Ord. Sgt.
