I believe my ggg-grandfather Daniel N. Wyatt fought in the defense of Columbus at Girard with the 3rd Battalion Alabama Reserves who were consolidated with the 4th Battalion Alabama Reserves to make up the 65th Alabama Infantry. I am patiently awaiting for his service records to arrive from NARA. Glad to read any info I can about that engagement.
