I have heard about the minister that wrote about the Tuskaloosa Plowboys but haven't ever read what he wrote. My gGrandfather, John B. Beams, spent some time in the field hospital with his wounds. He was left with a paralyzed leg and arm. He was able to hobble around with a cane or crutch. His grave is beside his wife Basha and his young grandson James A. Driver (my daddy's brother) in Moores Bridge cemetery. I have a copy of his death certificate. He died in 1925. On the certificate there isn't a year of his birth but Daddy said he was over 100. I think someone put the year 1818 on his tomb stone.
