I'd guess so. Here's the information on that company. Seems like Col. Inzer wrote something about a shoot-out between deserters and local Confederates at Ashville that mentioned Capt. Stewart's death. It's interesting that 58th Alabama records show many of their members leaving to join this company.

Company “C” Hardies' Battalion of St. Clair County

Ezekiel Stewart. Elected Captain on June 13, 1864. [Killed at Ashville, Alabama, January 15, 1865.]

This company organized at Ashville, Alabama, June 13, 1864, mustering there September 30, 1864. Officers and men included at least twenty-five deserters from the 58th Alabama Infantry Regiment. This command also appears as Company “B” in some records. Some members were later assigned to Hardie's Company “G”.
